It took him a total of 33 years to complete his home. This terrific attraction is situated in the city of Hauterives in France. It is now an intriguing location for tourists to visit.
In the building process, Cheval carried stones found on his route. These stones were transported to the site of his home. They would be used in the construction of the structure. The walls of Le Palais Ideal du Facteur Cheval took two decades to complete. Many marvel at the design of this nontraditional home. Others are intrigued by the longevity of this structure.
Cheval found his inspiration in a number of different places. He took some of this inspiration from the pages of the Bible. It is also believed that he used Hindu mythology in the construction of Le Palais Ideal du Facteur Cheval. Along with these, Cheval used lime, mortar, and cement. These were used as binding components for his stone structure.
