Maison de Jeanne d'Arc

France hotels

The Maison de Jeanne d’Arc is one of the most unique museums in France. This museum was designed to commemorate the live of the infamous character, Joan of Arc. Joan, also referred to as the Maid of Orleans, was the daughter of peasants. She went on to become one of history’s most well known women. Children around the world learn about her and the acts that led to her death.

Maison de Jeanne d'Arc

Maison de Jeanne d’Arc displays exhibits of this young girl’s life. Here you will see various images of Joan pictured. The museum itself is housed in one of the amazing pieces of architecture found in Orleans. The works here not only depict history, but the events that Joan of Arc experienced. The museum is smaller than some of the urban offerings, but has a lot to offer.

This historic heroine even spent 10 days in the very house that is now the museum in 1429. It has a distinct ambiance of this quaint city. Inside Maison de Jeanne d’Arc, tourists find costumes, banners, and various other mementos of this time. Orleans is the home to many other tourist attractions. The city is nestled in north-central France.

Tourists enjoy this location because it has a less urban feel than Paris, which is 81 miles away. The museum is very convenient to many visitors in this area. There are a number of hotels and restaurants here for tourists to enjoy. This is one of the reasons to include Maison de Jeanne d’Arc on your vacation itinerary.
